The Super Tuscan movement began in the late 1960s when a few forward thinking wine makers in the Chianti region broke with tradition to create wines that did not conform to the strict regulations of the time by using unauthorised grape varieties and/or non-traditional oak barrels for aging.

The resulting wines attracted international attention and are considered to be some of the finest wines produced in Italy.

Just as the Super Tuscans sought to offer something different, we will seek to offer the more unusual and finer wines and ingredients that Italy has to offer together with the best of the old favourites. We believe that good Italian food means quality ingredients cooked with minimum fuss to bring out maximum flavour and as such we have spent time seeking out the best suppliers.
